Given our past reporting on the financial and managerial straits at Wild Animal Orphanage, we still have doubts about the organization's continued viability, but we also want to see the hundreds of animals receive the food and shelter they require.
The WAO estimates it needs to raise half-a-million pretty darn quick to keep feeding and housing old, abused, and neglected wild things, ranging from bears to chimpanzees to big cats. They hope this Sunday's benefit concert at Floore's Country Store will help get them there. Here's some basic details for those interested in checking it out:
When: July 11, 12:00-6:00 p.m.
Where: Floore's Country Store, 14464 Old Bandera Road, Helotes
Price: Donation
What: Five local bands and a silent auction. Bands are
Johnny Colvin Band, Halfway
Legal, Ashly Dixon, Dan Searcy & Cedar Fever, and the Jimmy Cribb Band
